Town of Edmeston Summer 2021 Swimming and Recreation Program

July 5th – August 6th
Monday through Friday 8:00am – 12:00pm

Program Description: Registered participants can be dropped off at the North Street entrance at 8:00 am. Current COVID protocols will be followed. A free breakfast will be provided by the ECS kitchen from 8:30 am until 9:00 am. Swim lesson times will be scheduled every 30 minutes starting at 9:00 am going until 11:30 am. The students will be grouped according to Red Cross Swim Levels. Your child will find out their swim time on July 5th. When your child is not swimming, there will be activities provided. A free lunch will be from 11:00 am until 11:30. This program will run rain or shine. Children younger than 4 years old are welcome to participate in swimming lessons and can also eat breakfast and lunch but must be registered and accompanied by an adult. Pick-up is at 12:00pm at the North Street entrance/playground area. If you would like to require that someone sign your child out each day, please indicate who may sign them out on the registration form. Identification may be required when picking up the child.

Illness: If your child displays any signs of illness, they will be taken to the security booth waiting area until an adult is able to come pick them up. Please do not send your child if they are sick.

Discipline: To maintain the integrity of the program and safety for all involved, the following guidelines will be in place. Please discuss your expectations with your child.
1. For any discipline issue (in the cafeteria, at the pool, or outside) a verbal warning will be given and parent will be contacted.
2. If there is a second offense, the child will be dismissed permanently from the program. The parent will be contacted and asked to come pick up the child.

*If you are not a resident of the Town of Edmeston, there is a fee to use the pool or participate in the Summer Recreation Program. The fee will help cover the costs associated with running the pool and summer programs. If a child is released from the program due to disciplinary issues, the fee will not be refunded. Please see the attached Season Pass Application. The check can be made out to the Town of Edmeston and given to Mrs. Porter or mailed to PO Box 5133, Edmeston NY 13335. If your address is within the ECS district, but not in Edmeston, please urge your Town Board members to financially support this amazing opportunity for all children in your town. The goal is to provide a safe, fun, and enriching experience for your child in the summer, including swimming lessons that could save their life or the life of another.

Edmeston Town Pool open swim is June 26 – August 28, 2021 from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Everyone using the pool is required to have a pool pass issued by the Edmeston Town Clerk. The form is available at the clerk’s office or at the pool. Current COVID rules will apply.
