On Monday, January 21st, 2-4 p.m., the Edmeston Museum will be offering its first “School Break Workshop“. The workshop is geared for students from 4th to 8th grade. There is no cost and students from around the whole area are welcome to attend. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The history of Ellen Clapsaddle, a native of Richfield Springs, NY, and her postcards will be the focus. Clapsaddle became an internationally known illustrator specifically of small cards, used as postcards. She traveled to Germany prior to World War I and developed the Wolf Company, an art publishing organization. She later died in New York City but a group paid to have her reinterred in Richfield. The Richfield Springs Historical Society and Museum has loaned the Edmeston Museum a local collection of Clapsaddle’s work. Following a brief history, participants will make Valentine’s Day cards using rubber stamps, quilling and other paper crafts.
Join us for this first “School Break Workshop” on Monday, January 21st at the Edmeston Museum, 1 North Street, Edmeston, NY 13335.
